|a Sažetak na hrvatskom: U radu je opisan jedan pristup u izradi sustava za prepoznavanje najčešćeg
tipa hrvatskih registarskih pločica. Prepoznavanje je podijeno na dvije faze:
detekciju i očitavanje. Kod obje faze se pokušavaju pronaći određene
karakteristike koje ima promatrani tip registracija. U detekciji se pronalazi mjesto
na slici koje bi moglo predstavljati registraciju. U očitavanju je opisano na koji
način se prepoznaju znakovi koji se nalaze na registraciji. Na samome kraju su
opisani rezultati kreiranog algoritma - brzina i točnost nad ispitnim primjerima.
Sustav je kreiran pomoću programskoga jezika java i biblioteka OpenCV i
Tesseract.

|a Sažetak na engleskom: This paper describes an approach to the development of systems to
recognize the most common type of Croatian license plates. Recognition is divided
into two parts: detection and reading. Both parts are trying to find certain
characteristics that the observed type of registration has. The detection is finding a
place in the picture which could represent the registration. The reading describes
how to recognize the characters that are on the registration. At the end the results
of the created algorithm are described - speed and accuracy that are based on the
test images. The system is designed using the Java programming language and
the OpenCV and Tesseract libraries.
