|a Sažetak na hrvatskom: Eksterni troškovi u elektroenergetici predstavljaju nekompenzirane štete koje se javljaju kao neželjene posljedice proizvodnje električne energije. Eksterni troškovi mogu služiti za usporedbu različitih tehnologija za proizvodnju električne energije i različitih strategija razvoja elektroenergetskog sustava s obzirom na njihov utjecaj na okoliš. Za procjenu utjecaja na okoliš i ljudsko zdravlje uzrokovanih proizvodnjom električne energije, te pripadajućih eksternih troškova koristila su se dva najpoznatija računalna paketa SIMPACTS i Ecosense. Oni proračunavaju eksterne troškove na temelju štete za okoliš/zdravlje koju uzrokuju, tzv. metodom slijeda utjecaja. U ovome radu prikazani su rezultati proračuna eksternih troškova termoelektrana na hrvatskom teritoriju za 2011.godinu.

|a Sažetak na engleskom: The purpose of the paper is to quantify the external cost of airborne pollutants (i.e. sulphur and nitrogen oxides, carbon dioxide, and particulate matters) generated during electricity production in the thermal power plants in Croatia. This paper applies the SIMPACTS and Ecosense tool to examine the external cost of air pollution generated in all thermal power for year 2011. The estimation of external costs is important for decision makers in the electricity sector to develop strategies for emission reduction and to develop environmental and energy policies. In this research the author compared results from both programs and also represented the differences between those two programs in calculating external costs for every thermal power plant in Croatia for year 2011. The external cost was quantified in Euros per MWh.
