The first one is the controversy regarding the primacy of either their political or their aesthetic function, while the second concerns their hybrid generic genealogy – of tabloid covers on one hand and of artistic avant-guard on another – as well as more precise detection of their strategies. Finally, the author argues that the key of their “ uncanniness” is to be found in the “ feminization” to which they submitted the presidential figure. | ||
