|a Sažetak na hrvatskom: Promjena elektroenergetske slike neophodna je kako bi se zadovoljio budući porast potražnje, povećala sigurnost opskrbe električne energije i usporile klimatske promjene. Nuklearna energija, svojom gustoćom i čistoćom, uklapa se u takve strategije, ali zbog specifičnih rizika projekt je kontroverzan. Visoki kapitalni troškovi otežavaju financiranje nuklearne elektrane. Promjene dizajna zbog visokih regulatornih i sigurnosnih zahtjeva i promjene političkih okvira rezultirale su prekoračenjem proračuna i kašnjenjem radova. Kašnjenjem radova ugroženo je dugo vrijeme povrata, te su izraženiji financijski rizici. Ekonomski aspekt projekta je maksimiziranje profita, koje je na tržištu električne energije ugroženo. Povlačenjem državnog kapitala i deregulacijom tržišta, nužne su nove strukture financiranja koje će investitorima pružiti određeni oblik sigurnosti i podijeliti rizik, kako bi se privukle investicije u izgradnju nuklearnih elektrana. Programskim alatom FINPLAN napravljena je analiza isplativosti izgradnje nuklearne elektrane na tržištu, u ovisnosti o cijeni električne energije.

|a Sažetak na engleskom: Change of electric power image is necessary in order to expedient future growth in demand, to increase security of the electricity supply and to slow down climate change. Density and cleanliness of the nuclear power suits in these strategies, but because of the specific risks project is considered to be controversial . Financing of nuclear power is complicated due the high cost of capital. Changes in design generated by high safety requirements as well as changes in political framework have resulted in exceeding of the budget and delay of work. Long payback period is threatened by delay of work, and financial risks become more observable. The economic aspect of the project is to maximize profit, which is jeopardized in the electricity market. Considering the withdraw of the state capital and markets deregulation, new financing structure is necessary that will give investors certain frame of security and divide risk among them, in order to attract investment in nuclear power facilities construction.
